Central Serous Chorioretinopathy / Central Serous Retinopathy (CSR)
Usually a self-limited disease, meaning it goes away on its own in a few weeks, occasionally this swelling of the macula causes more chronic visual changes that require intervention. We will ask you to avoid certain medications if you are diagnosed with this disease.
What if my swelling does not go away?
There is a pill that you can take to help resolve the fluid under your retina in more severe cases. This medication can affect your kidneys, so we have to work with your primary care doctor to ensure you don't have any untoward side effects.
