As Dr. Gareth Lema and my colleagues have written - we are extremely proud of this work. We started this protocol to rapidly diagnose and treat eye strokes in 2019. It is a collaboration with my retina colleagues and the stroke service at Mount Sinai and I'm glad we can offer this unique service to our patients.

If you have sudden loss of vision in one eye, you can come to our office or the Mount Sinai ER immediately. If done within hours - we have been able to save vision in people who have historically lost it without recovery.

Dr. Richard Rosen says “Time is Retina!” Not only is it possible to restore meaningful vision, but a stroke in the eye can precede a future stroke in the brain.
